Submission Guidelines for Authors
CALL FOR CASES! Casebook on Health Research Ethics in Southeast Asia
The Faculty of Medicine, Universiti Malaya (UM) (Malaysia) and the Berman Institute of Bioethics, Johns Hopkins University (US) through a joint collaboration are seeking case studies on health research ethics from Southeast Asia for our casebook.
We are looking for cases that offer rich narratives illustrating challenges related to health research ethics and oversight faced by health researchers, research participants, institutions, sponsors, policymakers, and members of institutional review boards/research ethics committees are being solicited within the Southeast Asian region/context.
The casebook will be published electronically as an open-access resource to foster knowledge and understanding of regionally-relevant health research ethics issues, with a goal of promoting awareness and advancing capacity to address emerging and longstanding challenges.
Possible case themes include, but are not limited to research involving:
Submissions that highlight aspects of local research ethics policy, oversight and review systems are also encouraged.
The format of the casebook will be similar to the WHO Casebook on Ethical Issues in International Health Research (https://www.who.int/ethics/publications/9789241547727/en). You may access the submission guidelines for authors and an example of a case below for your reference
Please note that the deadline for submissions is 13 October 2021 (11.59PM MYT).
